Blog roundup

Blythe has a good summary about what went down during the all-around finals at Chinese Nationals. Interesting to see so many double-twisting Yuchenkos, but aside from Cheng Fei's I wouldn't really write home about any of them. At least the national team is aware of its weakness on vault and is making an effort to correct it.

It would be amazing if Romania could make similar changes on bars, as this piece from Universal Sports discusses. I can't think that Bitang and Belu don't realize that things have to change in the way Romania trains bars, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know where exactly the problems are starting. Is it at the junior level? Are there not the necessary experts on the national team?

Porgras is obviously the best worker they have right now on bars, and her lovely swing and technique show that yes, it IS very possible for Romania to produce lovely bar work, but she really is the exception rather than the rule. If B&B have any aspirations to return to the top of the podium in London, this has to be addressed now.
